Top Destinations in The Pacific And Indian Oceans

Wayag Beach

Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia
Wayag Beach is hidden on a small island within the Raja Ampat archipelago. The towering limestone formations and beautiful atolls not only make for Instagram heaven but provide a ground for world-class snorkeling and deep-sea diving.

Nalaguraidhoo Beach

South Ari Atoll, Maldives
You’ve seen the photos right? Well yes… this is it! The Maldives consists of a string of islands in the Indian Ocean that are well known for the coastline’s blue waters, white sands and pure bliss.

Anaho Beach

Nuku Hiva
In the distant Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia, Nuku Hiva is an island of many wonders. After a hike up to a mountain pass, you catch your first glimpse of Anaho Bay, a magical crescent that seems to be detached from the rest of the world. Should you stay up here and enjoy the views or head down to the beach? That’s a tough call. Once you make it down to the soft sand, a family of copra farmers living completely off the grid greets you with a huge Polynesian smile.

Best Beaches on the Atlantic Ocean

Island Beach State Park

New Jersey, USA
New Jersey is typically known for its large, crowded family vacation destinations, but among these overpopulated tourist towns, there are a few pristine beach gems. Island Beach State Park, near Seaside Park, is one of the few undeveloped, protected beach islands of the Atlantic. A three-mile stretch at the island's Southern Natural Area offers soft sand for sunbathing and picnicking. Take hikes among the sand dunes and wetlands throughout the area.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Copacabana is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in South America. With a long strip of cafes and nightclubs just off the beach, Copacabana is a beautiful stretch of golden sand that is often crammed with people, making the most of their free time. You will mainly find adults and older teenagers on the beach. Beach football and the constant activity during the day make this a great beach for people watching.

Playa El Agua

Margarita Island, Venezuela
This beach is as close to the stereotype of a paradise as you can get, with around four kilometres of golden sand, lined with palm trees on one side and the sparkling blue water on the other.

Learning How To Swim?

Start With Your Technique

The ultimate foundation of a successful swimmer is having great technique. As you progress, poor technique acts as a glass ceiling for your abilities.

Do Not Lift Your Head to Breathe

Do not lift your head forward before turning sideways to breathe. This common mistake also causes your hips and legs to drop. Instead, roll to the side and at the same time turn your head a bit further so that your mouth leaves the water.

Get Feedback

That hand entry turns out to be not nearly as wide as we thought. We drop our elbow when tired. And so on. Having a coach, or video feedback, in the case of training solo, will help you correct mistakes in your technique early on.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Swimming requires showing up and putting in the repetitions. Swimming with fantastic technique and great effort for a few lengths is awesome; doing it repeatedly over weeks, months and years is greatness.
